Alpha Venture Partners is an innovative growth venture fund. Alpha partners with a network of 400+ early stage funds to co-invest in their best growth stage companies. 

The Investors Relations Director (IRD) will be responsible for managing and measuring our engagement with Alpha VP’s stakeholders including its 100+ limited partners, limited partner prospects, its 400+ VC Firm partners and teams, and the entire VC ecosystem. In addition to this mission critical IR function, the IRD will also deliver Alpha VP’s marketing execution, under the direction of partners Brian Smiga & Steve Brotman. The IRD will report to partner Brian Smiga. 

The candidate will nurture 100s of relationships with investors, limited partners, and venture capital firms. 

The Marketing Role

The candidate will manage all of Alpha’s marketing execution, both strategic and tactical, including the design, writing, editing, planning, and measuring the effectiveness of the following market projects:

  1. Editorial/Publishing Calendar: Defining channels and an editorial calendar of monthly update newsletters plus an annual update delivered to two audiences: Venture Capital Firms and Limited Partners
  2. Social Media: Defining the channels and executing on weekly social posts large and small that cover Alpha’s news, its portfolio news, and its venture community selected news.
  3. Digital Assets: Managing our digital assets from web-site to social media to other digital content assets, including a podcast series
  4. Events: Amplifying results from our quarterly partner breakfast series and producing LP events including Annual AlphaMarket at the Yale Club with TED like content. 
  5. Collateral: Defining, editing, and producing all digital and print materials, such as pitch decks, business cards, printing, banners, event-gifts, and thank-you gifts for key relationships. 
  6. PR: Developing a PR strategy, PR relationships, and goals.
  7. Sales Operations: Working with sales operations to ensure they have the communications, emails, language, landing pages they need to win at their goals.

The Investor Relations Role

Our goal is to be our LP’s #1 rated growth fund. You will have overall responsibility for relationships with our 100+ existing investors, which includes producing and editing quarterly and annual LP reports, our LP portal, monthly LP update letters, annual LP meeting in October in New York, and answering LP questions.

  1. Create and maintain all marketing collateral, including presentation materials, on-boarding packages, product offering profiles, and any ad-hoc content that may be required.
  2. Overall responsibility for communications and periodic updates to 100s of LP prospects ranging from family offices, RIAs, MFOs, and institutional investors, including events, thought leadership content and newsletters. 
  3. Equal participant in capital formation for Alpha’s funds and co-investments. Responsible for sourcing, qualifying and nurturing prospective investors. Avid manager of our LP sales operations, using tools such as our CRM (Affinity), dataroom (OneHub), Mailchimp, Pitchbook and other data sources and tools. 
  4. Willing to spend 30% of time on travel, events, digital filing, process improvement and related projects. 


Alpha Venture Partners is looking for applicants with 3+ years of work experience, preferably in investor relations, marketing, communications, private equity and/or investment banking.  The IRD must be results oriented with an ability to work independently and proactively. Applicants must show strong research, writing skills, EQ, relationship skills, company diligence and database skills in addition to having a good grasp of the private investment landscape.


  • Strong understanding of macroeconomics, capital markets trends, competitor analysis, industry dynamics.
  • Service-oriented attitude characterized by strong listening skills and the desire to achieve shared success.
  • Attention to detail and time- and project-management skills.Series 7 license and/or Series 63 license a plus, but not required
